유치(젖니)가 비정상적으로 늦게 날 때, Delayed milk teeth dentition

• 생후 6~7개월경 첫 젖니(유치)가 나는 것이 보통이고 
• 적어도 생후 2세 전에 20개의 젖니가 다 나는 것이 정상이다. 
• 여러 가지 생활 조건이나 병으로 인해 첫 젖니가 나는 시기가 다소 일찍 때로는 더 늦게 날 수 있다. 
• 일반적으로 첫 젖니가 1세 전에 나지 않으면 젖니가 비정상적으로 늦게 난다고 할 수 있다. 
• 그러나 아무 이상이 없는 일부의 영유들의 첫 젖니가 돌이 지난 후 한두 달 내 나기도 한다. 
• 이것도 대개 정상적인 것이다. 

첫 젖니가 늦게 나는 원인

① 위에서 설명한바와 같이 정상적으로 첫 젖니가 돌이 지난 후 몇 달 내에 날 수 있다. 

② 갑상선 기능 저하증, 뇌하수체 기능 저하증, 부갑상선 기능 저하증, 가성 부갑상선 기능저하증, 비타민 D 결핍증과 비타민 D 저항증 등 내분비선 기능 이상이나 비타민 결핍증이 있을 때 젖니가 늦게 날 수 있다.

③ 다운 증후군 등 상염색체 이상 

④ 여러 종류의 유전성 질환

⑤ 선천성 풍진 증후군이나 선천성 매독 등

⑥ 심한 심장병이나 만성 위장병 등 전신적 위중한 질환으로 극도로 쇠약할 때 

⑦ 그 외 

첫 젖니가 늦게 나면 어떻게 하나

• 어떤 병으로 젖니가 비정상적으로 늦게 날 때는 젖니가 늦게 날뿐만 아이라 1차 적으로 있는 병의 증상이 함께 있는 것이 보통이다. 
• 몸에 아무 이상이 없이 첫 젖니가 1세까지 나지 않을 때는 소아과에서 진찰을 받고 조심히 관찰하면서 기다리든지 치과에서 그 이유를 알아본다. 
• 어떤 원인으로 젖니가 비정상으로 늦게 날 때는 원인에 따라 치료한다.

Delayed milk teeth dentition

When baby teeth are abnormally late

• It is normal for the first milk teeth to appear around 6-7 months of age.

• It is normal for all 20 milk teeth to appear at least before 2 years of age.

• Due to various living conditions or diseases, the first teething may occur a little earlier and sometimes later.

• In general, if the first teething does not occur before 1 year of age, it can be said that the teething is abnormally late.

• However, some infants with no abnormality may have their first teething within a month or two after they have passed.

• This is usually normal.

Causes of late first teething

① As described above, normal first teething can occur within a few months after teething.

② Teething may be delayed when there is an endocrine dysfunction or vitamin deficiency, such as hypothyroidism, hypopituitarism, hypoparathyroidism, pseudohypoparathyroidism, vitamin D deficiency and vitamin D resistance.

③ Autosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome

④ Various types of hereditary diseases

⑤ Congenital rubella syndrome or congenital syphilis

⑥ When you are extremely debilitated from serious systemic diseases such as severe heart disease or chronic gastrointestinal disease

⑦ Others

What to do if your first teething is late

• When teething is abnormally delayed due to some disease, it is common to have symptoms of a primary disease as well as late teething.

• If there is nothing wrong with the body and the first teeth do not appear until the age of 1 year old, see a pediatrician and observe carefully and wait or find out the reason at the dentist.

• In case of abnormally late teething due to any cause, treat according to the cause.
