• 입술을 빨거나 이로 입술은 무는 버릇, 
• 아랫입술을 위 앞니와 아래 앞니 사이에 밀어 넣는 버릇, 
• 혀로 위 입술과 아래 입술을 빠는 버릇을 가진 아이들이 가끔 있다. 
• 이런 종류의 버릇이 있는 아이들의 아래위 입술 바로 밑 부위나 위에 있는 입술 주위 피부에 멍이 들 수 있고 피부가 갈라질 수 있다. 
• 입술 주위의 피부를 계속 빨아 입술이 자극 받기 때문에 입술 피부에 접촉성 피부염이 생길 수 있다. 
• 이런 버릇이 음식물 알레르기 도 생길 수 있고 아토피성 피부염으로 생길 수 있다. 
• 갈라진 입술 피부는 페트롤레이툼(Petrolatum/와셀린) 연고나 스테로이드제 연고를 발라 치료하면 대개 잘 낫는다. 그러나 재발될 수 있다. 
• 그 원인을 알아서 원인을 제거하든지 피한다. 
• 알레르기성 질환을 유발 시키는 음식물 등 알러젠을 피해야 한다.

• The habit of sucking or biting your lips with your teeth,

• The habit of pushing the lower lip between the upper and lower incisors;

• Sometimes children have a habit of sucking their upper and lower lip with their tongues.

• Children with this type of habit may have bruising and cracking of the skin in the area just below the upper and lower lip or around the upper lip.

• Contact dermatitis may occur on the skin of the lips because the lips are irritated by continuously sucking the skin around them.

• This habit can cause food allergies and atopic dermatitis.

• Cracked lip skin usually gets better when treated with Petrolatum (Vaseline) ointment or steroid ointment. However, it may recur.

• Know the cause and eliminate or avoid it.
